g) Upsetting/Shouldering: This technique involves heating one end of the metal piece and striking it perpendicular to increase thickness or create shoulders for joinery purposes.

h) Quenching and Tempering: After shaping is complete, cool down finished pieces rapidly in water or oil for hardness. Then temper by reheating at lower temperatures for strength without brittleness.
