The design considerations for a proper ventilation system include several factors such as airflow rates required based on equipment capacity, physical layout of the workshop space, number of workers present simultaneously along with their activities performed within space etc., noise levels generated by fans/motors used in ventilating equipment must also be taken into account.

Regular maintenance and monitoring of ventilation systems are crucial to ensure their continued effectiveness. Filters should be cleaned or replaced as necessary, ductwork inspected for leaks or blockages, and fans regularly checked for proper operation. Additionally, blacksmiths should be trained on the importance of using the ventilation system correctly and encouraged to report any issues promptly.
