For example, instead of using an anvil for leverage when shaping metal for keychains pliers are used instead because they give more control over smaller pieces being worked on.

When making keychains, start by heating up your metal until it glows orange then begin shaping into desired form with pliers until symmetrically shaped as seen in picture below:


To add decoration (if wanted) use punches/chisels or twist pieces into various shapes such as spirals before cleaning them up with wire brushes/sandpaper then coating in oil/wax.
