To perform GTAW on chisels, start by cleaning both surfaces meticulously to ensure no contaminants exist between layers before clamping it down securely into position using appropriate jigs/fixtures if required for accuracy purposes when aligning components such as cutting edges precisely.

3. Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW)
Gas metal arc welding (GMAW), commonly referred to as MIG (metal inert gas) welding, is another popular technique used by modern blacksmiths for chisel production where wire feeders supply continuous wire electrodes onto melted parent material through which electric current passes melting these wires creating strong bonds within welded joints surrounding areas.

The GMAW welding technique is ideal for chisels with thinner edges, which are typically more challenging to weld using other techniques. When using this method, ensure the wire feed rate and voltage settings are set appropriately to prevent overheating or underheating of your material during the welding process.

4. Stick Welding
Stick welding is one of the most straightforward welding techniques used by blacksmiths worldwide. It involves creating an electric arc between a metal rod (the stick) and a metal surface that you want to weld together.

To use this technique when producing chisels, first clean both surfaces thoroughly before clamping them securely into position. Next, strike an arc with your stick electrode onto one end of each piece until they melt together as one solid unit under the right temperature conditions in your forge/furnace environment.
