Welders must also maintain up-to-date knowledge about new equipment and technologies being developed within the field so they can remain competitive in today’s job market. Continuing education classes offered by trade associations can help keep current on developments impacting their work environment such as environmental regulations affecting emissions generated during welding processes or newly mandated safety standards aimed at reducing workplace accidents caused by faulty equipment usage or incorrect procedures followed while performing tasks related to metalworking trades like blacksmithing.
