Modern-day blacksmiths also incorporate advances made possible by technology into their work alongside traditional methods, including using CNC machines (Computer Numerical Control) for precision cutting parts before beginning hand-forged fabrication processes like hammer forging or welding them together using heat generated either electrically or chemically instead of coal-fired furnaces fueled solely by coal – although some still prefer going down that route given its cost-effectiveness in the long run.
