First and foremost, always read the manufacturer’s instructions carefully before using any propane-powered device or equipment. This includes the proper way to connect and disconnect tanks, how to adjust the flame, and what types of materials are safe to use around propane.
When transporting propane tanks, make sure they are secured upright in your vehicle with proper restraints. Never leave them unsecured or throw them in the back of a truck where they can roll around freely.
Before lighting any propane burner or torch, make sure there is no gas leaking from the connections by performing a simple “soap test.” Mix equal parts water and dish soap together and apply it generously over all the connections.
