The world of welding is vast and varied, with a wide range of techniques to choose from depending on what you’re working on. One technique that’s gained popularity in recent years is Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW), also known as TIG welding. Another fun observation about GTAW is how much it seems like the welder is conducting an orchestra while they work! The way they move the torch around while adding filler material almost looks like they’re playing an invisible instrument. It’s like watching a performance art piece in action!

One last thing I’ll mention about GTAW – if you’re not careful, it can be pretty easy to get “zapped” by the arc! Unlike other types of welding where there’s often a visible spark or flash when something goes wrong; with TIG-welding you might not even realize what happened until after the fact (when your hand suddenly starts stinging). So always make sure you’re wearing proper protective gear and keeping a safe distance from your workpiece!
