Angelina Jolie: More Than Just an Actress, an Inspiration for Blacksmiths and Philanthropists Alike

Angelina Jolie is undoubtedly one of the most iconic actresses in Hollywood, with a career spanning over three decades. However, her contributions to society go beyond just the big screen. Jolie has been a humanitarian and activist for many years and has used her platform to bring awareness to various issues.

One of Jolie’s most notable contributions is her work as a Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). She has traveled extensively throughout the world, visiting refugee camps and advocating for their rights. In 2012, she was appointed as Special Envoy to the UNHCR, where she continues to fight for displaced people’s rights worldwide.

Jolie has also been an advocate for women’s rights. She co-founded the Preventing Sexual Violence Initiative (PSVI) in 2012 with British politician William Hague. The initiative aims to raise awareness about sexual violence in conflict zones and works towards ending impunity for perpetrators of these crimes.

In addition to her humanitarian work, Jolie is also known for being very open about her personal life and struggles. She famously underwent a double mastectomy after learning that she carried a gene mutation that put her at high risk of developing breast cancer. Her decision sparked conversations around preventative measures against breast cancer and encouraged other women to consider genetic testing.

Despite facing criticism from some who label her as “attention-seeking,” Jolie remains steadfast in using her celebrity status to bring attention to important issues affecting marginalized communities worldwide.

As a blacksmith or metalworker looking up-to Angelina Jolie may seem like an unlikely role model; however, there are several reasons why this actress turned activist can be an inspiration not only on-screen but off-screen too.

Firstly, Angelina demonstrates that you don’t have always come from privilege or wealth before making it big on your own merit through dedication & talent – something many Blacksmiths can relate well too since it takes years of dedication and hard work to master the craft.

Secondly, her humanitarian work shows that even with fame and wealth, it’s essential to use your platform for good and help others. As blacksmiths or metalworkers, we can also give back to our communities by sharing knowledge of our skills through apprenticeships programs and workshops.

In conclusion, Angelina Jolie is much more than just an actress; she is a dedicated philanthropist who uses her celebrity status to bring attention to important global issues. Her message of using one’s platform for good resonates well with people from all walks of life, including those in the blacksmithing community. We can learn a lot from her example when it comes to giving back and making a positive impact on the world around us.
