2) Tapering
Tapering is the process of reducing a section of metal’s thickness while maintaining its width. This technique is used when creating tapered shapes such as knife blades, chisels, or candlesticks.
To taper metal, you should start by heating up about 2-3 inches at one end until it turns red hot before placing it on an anvil face (or similar flat surface). 3) Upsetting
